EVERETT, Wash. -- A Boeing worker is recovering at a Seattle hospital after getting hurt on the job.

Emergency vehicles raced on Paine Field Wednesday evening. Boeing confirmed the employee was working at the Everett 40-56 building and was injured during machine work. An emergency team provided medical attention at the scene.

Initial reports were the worker's hand was trapped. Firefighters freed the worker and he was airlifted to Seattle.

A Boeing spokesman would not disclose the type of injury, the employee's name or where he was airlifted.
