The San Francisco 49ers will face the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC championship Sunday. That isn t stopping the wife of a 49ers legend from lending a hand to one of the Seahawks stars for a good cause.
Jennifer Montana, a jewelry designer and the wife of hall of fame quarterback Joe Montana, is releasing a Beast Mode key necklace to benefit Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch s charity, Fam 1st Family Foundation.
Lynch, an Oakland native, has become close with the Montanas in recent years through his community work. He formed Fam 1st with his cousin, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Josh Johnson, in 2011.
Marshawn is not only a personal friend, but has been a philanthropic inspiration of mine for several years now, Jennifer Montana said in a media release. He and his cousin Josh have done an extraordinary job in raising awareness and funds for FAM 1st.
The necklace will be available beginning Thursday at jennifermontanadesign.com. It costs $124, with 80% of the profits benefitting Fam 1st and the Four Rings, Montana Family Foundation.
The Montana s, like Josh and me, share a deep dedication to children, the Bay Area, Oakland, football and philanthropy, Lynch said in a statement. We were fired up and grateful when Jennifer approached us with the idea of the Beast Mode Key necklace that would benefit FAM 1st.
Even with the backing of a San Francisco legend, 49ers fans probably won t be lining up to show their support for Beast Mode Lynch s alter ego on Sunday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Eastern at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
