A fish that survived a nearly 5,000-mile trip across the Pacific Ocean is now on display at the Seaside Aquarium in Oregon.

The Striped Beakfish turned up in possible Japan tsunami debris found on the shore at Long Beach, Wash.

The fish is common off the shores of Japan or China, but not the Northwest.

Experts initially found five of the fish alive in the debris. They euthanized four of them for study, but they kept one to put on display.
