A wanted felon drove into a Lynnwood police officer and his marked police motorcycle Sunday night.

The incident happened in the parking lot of the Alderwood Mall at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

According to Lynnwood police, the officer was attempting to stop the 19-year-old man from Arlington after mall security had alerted police that a man in the food court looked similar to a wanted felony suspect from a recent crime bulletin. .

After the man ran into the officer and his motorcycle, he continued driving until he crashed into two parked vehicles.

The crash overturned one of the parked cars and pushed it into a second parked car.

The Lynnwood Police officer and a 25-year-old Snohomish woman in the parked vehicle did not suffer any serious injuries.

The Arlington man was taken into custody and will be booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of Assault on a Police Officer, Felony Eluding, three counts of Possession of a stolen vehicle and Malicious Mischief in the first degree.
