An organization based in Snohomish County is reaching out to help an animal crisis half a world away. The victims are dogs - pets that have been banned by the Iranian government, which is threatening to kill them or punish families that still own them. PAWS has teamed up with the Humane Society International and shelters in Tehran to rescue these endangered dogs and bring them to Western Washington for a chance at new lives with loving families.

Mark Coleman from PAWS joined Margaret to talk more about the effort, along with Baylee Parfitt, who adopted one of two dogs that have already arrived in Western Washington. Mark says another dog is on its way to PAWS right now, and the organization expects several more to arrive in the coming week.
