Signs are posted all around the grounds of North Seattle Community College, warning pedestrians about a pack of raccoons on guard.

At least one man said the raccoons went after him as he walked by, unable to thwart the animals as they pounced on his dog, reports the Seattle Times.

That incident and other reports prompted the school to post signs reading, Beware of aggressive raccoon pack in area on trees, poles and sidewalks.

Some traps have been set out, however, any animal caught in the trap must be euthanized, according to the Times.

A Lakewood woman was injured last month when a pack of raccoons attacked her as she jogged, leaving her with more than 100 bites and scratch marks.

Fish and Wildlife advise anyone who encounters an aggressive raccoon to just run away.
