It s a bird.

It s a plane.

It s a 129-foot-long, 91,000 pound flying king salmon.

That last statement will soon be a reality, courtesy of Alaska Airlines and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.

The two have unveiled what they call the world s largest king salmon, which will be painted on a Boeing 737-800. It will make its debut this fall.

The so-called Salmon-Thirty-Salmon II is a spin-off of a similar paint scheme Alaska Airlines painted on a 737-400 in 2005.

The new design features fish scales on the winglets and a salmon-pink Alaska script across the fuselage.

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute promotes wild, natural and sustainable Alaska seafood.
