SEATTLE - The Seattle School Board on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve Anaheim School Superintendent Jose Banda for the position of Seattle School Superintendent.

The district says when contacted Sunday night, Banda expressed his willingness to take the job to replace Maria Goodloe-Johnson who was ousted last year in a financial scandal.

School board members had said when they met Banda he did not propose any big changes, and that's what they liked.

One of two other superintendents who interviewed and withdrew is Sandra Husk of Salem-Keizer Public Schools.
