The Seattle Mariners have called up infielder Nick Franklin from Triple-A Tacoma. He s expected to be in Arlington in time for Wednesday s game against the Texas Rangers. reports Franklin is replacing Logan Morrison, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Franklin was Seattle s starter at second base for most of 2013, but was replaced with the Mariners signed Robinson Cano. It s not clear where Franklin will be used.

The switch-hitting Franklin has a .395 average with four home runs and 13 RBIs in 11 games for Tacoma this season.
