SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- A group of Eastside Catholic High School alumni are calling for a change to the status quo at their alma mater, which is working throughthe controversial departure of its Vice Principal for marrying another man.

The group of alumniformed four committees to pressure school administrators to address gay marriage, gay rights, possible employment rights violations and ineffective leadership byschool President Sister Mary Tracy.

There have been a number of issues kind of simmering at the school for several years and we feel this is the tipping point where we can finally affect some change there, said Corey Sinsey, Eastside Catholic alumnus.

Representatives from the Sammamish school did not return requests for comment Wednesday.

Meanwhile, many students protested the school's position on Zmuda's marriage by wearing orange.

It's weird. It s been really weird, said Crow. I hope they see it s not just us kids, us high school kids anymore. I hope they see it s a lot more and a lot bigger than just our one high school.

About a quarter of the students wore orange Wednesday to protest his termination. Zmuda says he was fired back in December because the school said he violated Catholic policy by marrying a man.

The students posted pictures on the @KeepMrZ2013 Twitter feed, along with people all over the country.

Tuesday night, the school announced they would welcome a drama coach who just went public with her plans to marry her girlfriend. She is not under contract and so officials said she may not fall under the same behavioral guidelines.

A Facebook page has been set up for those who want the administration to change. It calls for the resignation of Eastside Catholic President Sister Mary Tracy.
