SEATTLE - One may be the loneliest number. But 12, in this city, unites. You see it in the sky, on flagpoles, on walls and the unlikeliest of places.

In Seattle s SoDo neighborhood, John Phillips said he wanted to show his pride.

I'm a football fan. Aren't we all football fans? he said as he gazed at his creation.

Phillips is more nervous about the game Saturday than he is about heights. He took out some of that tension on a roof near the stadium.

My palette he calls it.

He and two friends spent the last two days painting a 50-foot-by -70-foot 12th Man flag on the roof of a warehouse in the proposed SoDo Arena site. Phillips says he has the blessing of the property owner, Chris Hansen.

I thought I'd make something, always go big, wanna go big. Hawks right now are big, he said.

Phillips believes the mark is big enough that the visiting Saints will see it as they fly in for the game.

Phillips says he's up for adding more Seahawks related art, if the team moves on the playoffs.
