Tuesday's papal installation was a special event for students at Holy Family Parish School in Seattle s White Center neighborhood.

The 85-year-old school has more Latino elementary school students than any other Catholic school in the Seattle Archdiocese.

To have a pope with an Hispanic background gives them a lot of pride in their own heritage. In their own way, they're able to live out their faith as well, said religion teacher Peace Phan.

Students started their day by praying for the new spiritual leader, then watched excerpts from the morning's ceremony.

He's just a simple man, said one student.

He's a modest man. It's hard to not be proud to have a leader like that, said Victoria Finney.

One first grade teacher has family in Argentina.

A lot of the students asked if you know the pope or if you're related to him, said Finney.
