Teachers, students, and parents at Garfield High School gathered Wednesday for a National day of action to support the Seattle MAP test boycott.

Supporters were asked to wear red to Scrap the MAP.

History teacher Jesse Hagopian said the movement at Garfield High School is a unanimous movement.

We ve had a unanimous vote of the Garfield High School teachers for the MAP test boycott; we had a unanimous vote of the PTSA board and we had a unanimous vote of the associated student body government, and so Garfield speaks with one voice today, he said.

The controversy is over the Measure of Academic Progress test, which those boycotting say is a waste of time and resources.

District officials have order school administrators to pull students out of class to take the test.

A Facebook page for the national day of action shows comments supporting the movement by people from around the country.
