Get ready for a wet and windy Friday night and Saturday around Puget Sound, including at the NFC playoff game between the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints. That and rising snow levels could mean some minor flooding, too.

It s soggy now and it s going to be soggy tomorrow, said KING 5 Chief Meteorologist Jeff Renner.
Expect substantial rain (possibly up to or exceeding two inches) together with gusty winds.

Renner expects increasing heavy rain Friday night, along with 15-35 mph winds with potential gusts of 40 to 45 mph.

On Saturday, increasing heavy rain, widespread showers and winds will hit the region late in the morning and afternoon.

Gusts could reach 40-to-45 mph during the game, which happens between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. It will taper off after the game is over. There is also a very slight chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

In the mountains, expect snow levels to rise at or above 5,000 feet late Friday, but then drop back down to 2,000-2,500 feet Saturday afternoon or early Sunday with heavy snowfall.

Twelve to 18 inchesof new snow is possible by Sunday morning, including the Snoqualmie Pass areas, said Renner.
