ESTACADA, Ore. Deputies said speed and using a mobile device were factors that caused a woman to crash into a trailer full of fresh cut Christmas trees Sunday morning in Estacada.

Around 8 a.m., 22-year-old Danielle Battles of Estacada rear ended the trailer near South Springwater Road and South Eaden Road, said Mark Nikolai with the Clackamas County Sheriff s Office.

Battles was severely injured and taken by Life Flight to Oregon Health & Science University where she was listed in critical condition.

Deputies wanted to remind drivers that using a mobile device can get a ticket if caught. The Clackamas County Sheriff s Office said many accidents are caused by distracted driving.
