The Navy announced Monday that its demonstration squadron, Blue Angels, will return to Seattle as part of Seafair in 2013 and 2014.

There had been concerns that budget cuts might chop Seattle off the Blue Angels' show list.

The team's mission is the enhance U.S. Navy and Marine Corps recruiting efforts and to serve as role models for young people, as well as goodwill ambassadors for the Navy and Marines.

The air show will be part of Seafair's eight-week summer schedule of events.

Seafair marks its 65th anniversary in 2014.
