Redbox, a subsidiary of Bellevue-based Coinstar, Inc., will add 8,000 to 9,000 new video and gaming rental kiosks this year roughly one per hour.

Fortune reports Redbox, which has taken advantage of the decline in traditional video rental stores, accounts for about 85 percent of Coinstar s revenue.

But the company of 2,700 employees knows the future is digital, with more people choosing to stay at home and have their movies or video games beamed to them. Redbox is teaming with Verizon to soon provide digital delivery of videos for a monthly subscription, the price of which is expected to be lower than Netflix.
