Human remains were found in the woods of Saint Edwards State Park in Kenmore Thursday.

Students from Bastyr University were walking along the park's wooded trails, near Juanita Drive Northeast and Northeast 143rd Street, and came upon a skull and bones.

The King County Medical Examiner determined the remains are those of a male.

It's not known how the remains came to be in the area.

Detectives with the King County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit plan to conduct a further evidence search in the area Friday.
