Nearly everyone has a favorite cake from their childhood or a cherished recipe handed down for generations. Baker Julie Richardson pored over many classic cake recipes from decades past - and brought them into the 21st century without sacrificing their charm and flavor. The result: a gorgeous cookbook called Vintage Cakes.
Julie drove up from Portland, where she co-owns Baker and Spice bakery/cafe and Sweetwares kitchen wares shop, to share her delicious Texas Sheet Cake recipe with Margaret and the audience.
