Christine Gregoire is wrapping up her second term as governor, but she's just as busy now as she was when she was first sworn into office. Her latest initiative, Read Early, Read Often, encourages parents to spend at least 20 minutes a day reading to their young children. The program's mission: to help kids head to school ready to read and to create more memorable moments between children and their parents.

The governor joined New Day Northwest's Margaret Larsen to talk more about the program and to share a bit of family news: she's going to be a grandmother! She also shared what she considers to be some of the high points and biggest challenges during her two terms and offered some non-partisan advice to whoever replaces her in office.
