SEATTLE -- How does staying at home this weekend and doing yardwork sound instead of going, well, pretty much anywhere?

It's mid-August and besides just the first Seahawks pre-season home game at CenturyLink Field, there are a handful of fun events expected to draw huge crowds and unfortunately -- traffic troubles.

Hempfest will draw almost the same number of people as the Seahawks game for three days straight. That starts Friday at Myrtle Edwards Park.

Oh, and throw in all southbound lanes of the Alaskan Way Viaduct from the Battery Street Tunnel to the West Seattle Bridge will be closed starting at 11:00 p.m. Friday night throughMonday at 5:00 a.m.

Alternate forms of transportation are encouraged, as SDOT says, including Metro, Link Light Rail, and the Sounder commuter train. If you have to drive, check KING 5's traffic maps before leaving the house.
