STEVENS PASS, Wash. -- They are a perfect fit for the profile of the Young Invincible under the Affordable Care Act.

Stevens Pass Ski Resort has almost 600 part-time staffers who do not get health insurance through work.

So Friday, some of the resort staff took time off the slopes to enroll in the Washington Health Benefit Exchange.

I came in with a mindset that I was really ready to get coverage, said 27 year old Jenae Legg.

Legg has been anxious since she is no longer covered under her parents insurance.

I get a free season pass here at Stevens because I work here, said Legg. And I was really nervous about going out and going skiing without health coverage.

Matt Troskey, Vice President of Human Resources for the resort, invited the Washington Healthplanfinder to come in and help employees apply for healthcare coverage.

There were a lot of folks that they didn't understand what the individual mandate meant, said Troskey.

The enrollment seemed to go smoothly, despite technical issues plaguing the website in the last two weeks. Recognizing public frustration, the staff is committed to get to every applicant enrolled for January 1st, as long as he or she has at least started the process.

Maybe they've run into an error whatever that might be, we're going to work with them, said Michael Marchand, Director of Communications.

Kristi Stickland, outreach specialist for the exchange, suggested that anyone having trouble with the Healthplanfinder site to check the status center section on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange website. That's where they post information on system outages, the helpline, and tips on how to navigate the system smoothly.
