ABERDEEN, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol troopers are looking for clues after a body was found in a ditch along Highway 12, just outside of the city of Aberdeen.

Around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a motorist pulled over to the side of the road and spotted the body. Investigators believe the body may have been in the ditch at least overnight.

Investigators believe it was a pedestrian who was hit by a passing car on Highway 12. Troopers are finding small pieces of debris, possibly from the vehicle that hit the victim.

At this point, investigators believe the remains are of an adult male.

One lane of Highway 12 is closed during the investigation, which is expected to continue for most of the evening.
