Police are searching for a man who attacked a girl Wednesday night in South Seattle.

Police say shortly before 11 p.m., a juvenile female exited the southbound #7 bus in the 4200 block of S.Dawson St. and walked north on 42 Av. S. and then east on S. Dawson St.

A man grabbed the victim from behind, covering her mouth with one hand and grabbing her groin area with the other. The suspect then threw her down to the ground onto her back. He straddled the victim and covered her mouth with one hand and proceeded to grope her.

Police say the victim was able to bite the suspect s hand, causing him to pull it away. The victim fought with the suspect as she screamed loudly.

The suspect got off of the victim and ran west on S. Dawson St. to 42 Av. S. A witness saw the suspect run south on 42 Av. S. to Rainier Av. S. and then north on Rainier Av. S. A K-9 conducted a track that lead to the 5200 block of Rainier Av. S., police said.

Surveillance video showed the suspect ran to a vehicle parked on Rainier Ave. S. and fled the area in that vehicle.

Police say the suspect was wearing something similar to a ski mask with cut outs for the eyes and nose.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 11, 200 pds, short hair, wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, and white shoes.
