Several major intersections have been shut down in downtown Olympia after at least two men were stabbed Tuesday afternoon.

The incident started as a fight in Sylvester Park. The fight spilled onto the street and into a tunnel underneath the park.

Washington State Patrol later said three people may have been stabbed and that one of the victims may have started the fight. Witnesses reported seeing a man with a 6-inch long knife during the conflict.

The victims suffered potentially life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital. It's still unclear if police are searching for a person involved in the stabbing.

Capitol Way, a main through downtown, and several other streets are shut down during the police investigation. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
