Two men in Auburn were rushed to the hospital late Wednesday after suspects broke into their home, assaulted them and then shot them, police said.
One suspect was arrested near the scene of the break-in, on the 6000 block of South 298th Place.
Police are still looking for at least one more shooting suspect.
Auburn Police said the incident was not random; they said the house was targeted.
Neighbors said they don't know how such a violent crime could happen in their nice neighborhood.
Pretty surprising because this just doesn't happen here, said Tatia Holme, who lives nearby.
Officers were called to the home shortly before midnight when one of the victims made his way to a neighbor's house for help.
The neighbor tried to stop the bleeding and called 911.
Police arrested one suspect, a 38-year-old male from Seattle, a short distance from the home, with the help of a K-9.
The 23 and 24-year-old shooting victims have non life-threatening injuries, police said. They were taken to Harborview Medical Center to undergo surgery.
Police said two or three suspects broke into the home. Several other people who were at the home at the time of the shooting were not injured.
