Kent Police are asking for the public's help in solving a sexual assault that occurred August 6, 2013 at the Kent/East Hill area apartments.

A woman reported that she was sexually assaulted in her home by a stranger who entered the unit through an unlocked door.

The suspect pointed a knife at her and directed her into a bedroom. He pushed her onto a bed and forcibly kissed her.

When the suspect heard a noise, he stopped and ran from the apartment.

This is a very unusual circumstance, said Kent Police Detective Melanie Frazier. We have not had a similar situation or reports of any similar incidents.

The victim described the suspect as a white male with dark hair and green or blue eyes. He is 27 or 28 years old with a thick build. She said the suspect had a bump on his nose and a tattoo on his forearm.

A sketch artist worked with the victim to create a detailed sketch of the suspect.

Investigators hope the public can help identify the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kent Police Tip Line at (253) 856-5808.
