GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. - Rescue crews are in the process of rescuing a climber who fell between 100 and 200 feet on a steep section of Mount Hood Wednesday morning.

Clackamas County dispatchers said rescuers headed up from Timberline Lodge to the Hogsback area of the mountain, where the man fell.

Deputies said he may have a broken leg.

Other climbers were helping out the man until he could be safely taken down the mountain.

The 11,240-foot peak is Oregon's highest point. Thousands of people climb it each year, mostly in spring and summer.
