MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Girl Scout Troop 42047 of Marysville said they were the victims of a weekend burglar that made off with hundreds of dollars worth of donations.

It just kind of felt like someone punched me in the gut, said troop member Shannon Davidson.

It is not human to steal from girl scouts, said troop member Katelyn Ly.

Troop 42047 had spent several months collecting donated items like an Xbox 360, tools, and brand name clothing for an upcoming garage sale. Funds from the sale were going to go toward a special troop trip to London and Paris in the Summer of 2014. It costs $3,000 a piece to attend.

The girls, ages 13 to 15, were surprised to learn that the business where they had been storing the donated items was burglarized. It happened sometime between Saturday and Monday in the 100 block of State Avenue in Marysville.

Police said they are still investigating the case. The troop said the big ticket items were taken, and they estimate they're out nearly $800.

It may just be stuff to you. For us that was a ticket to go on a trip of a lifetime and that is what you stole from 13 and 14-year-olds, said troop member Kaitlyn Samaniego said

Troop 42047 said they are saddened by the loss, but they called it a setback. They are still determined to raise money for their trip.

We are going to work twice as hard and get that money back, said Davidson.

The troop plans to hold a garage sale in the Summer as a fundraiser. They will start collecting donations for that sale immediately. Anyone who would like to donate should email the troop at
