SEATTLE After a blockbuster offseason trade, the Seattle Storm selected Tennessee guard/forward Shekinna Stricklen with the second overall pick in Monday s WNBA Draft.

Stricklen was a 2012 Wooden Award and Wade Trophy finalist and All-SEC First Team pick. She averaged 15.1 points and 6.3 rebounds game in her senior year.

The Storm obtained the second pick in the draft in a trade with Chicago. The Storm sent All-Star forward Swin Cash, reserve forward Le coe Willingham and a second round pick to the Sky.

The Storm took DePaul forward Keisha Hampton in the second round. She put up 16.6 points per game in her senior season.

After winning its second WNBA crown in 2010, the Storm went 21-13 in 2011, finishing second in the Western Conference. The Storm was eliminated in the conference semifinals.

The Los Angeles Sparks took Nneka Ogwumike, a 6-foot 2-inch forward from Stanford, with the first overall pick. Ogwumike averaged 21.8 points in her senior year.
