A massive art installation at the Tower of London commemorates the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I.

Designed by ceramic artist Paul Cummins and stage designer Tom Piper, the display is called Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red.

The 888,246 red poppies represent each of the British and Commonwealth military dead.

The display is to be completed by Armistice Day on Nov. 11, and after that each poppy will be for sale for about $42 to raise millions for charity.
