LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- Nearly 100 disabled veterans gathered in Lakewood on Monday for golf lessons from the pros. The clinic, put together by the Veterans Administration, hosted vets with injuries ranging from spinal cord damage to amputees.

There are few better places than a green green on a stunning Monday in Lakewood

Sgt. First Class Michael Beaulieu spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan, but now he suffers from a severe case of PTSD.

I didn t want to be around people anymore, said Beaulieu. I just wanted to isolate myself.

In recent months there s been very little that could pull Beaulieu from his house. But Monday s golf did just that.

JC Duckworth served in the Army and Marine Corps. But on Monday he set his sights on a game many thought he would never play.

I can t see what they re talking about, but I can sense what they re saying, said Duckworth.

When Duckworth lost his vision in Vietnam his spirits were down. But now he s bringing everyone up.

Golf serves as therapy for these wounded vets. That s why these pros are happy to help.

It s just a small way for these golf pros to give back to these brave souls, who gave so much.
