The streets of downtown Seattle were filled with green Saturday as the city celebrated Saint Patrick's Day with the annual parade.

Washington native Katherine Zappone, who is a now a member of the Irish parliament and lives in Dublin, returned to serve as the parade's grand marshal.

One of the things that the honorary council said was that the Grand Marshal is responsible for the weather, so I bring you the great weather from Dublin this morning and we're going to have sun for the parade, she said.

The parade culminated with closing ceremonies at the Seattle Center.
