A Lynnwood woman lost her husband to cancer two years ago. Now, a thief has stolen her very last memento of him. It happened when they took a video camera, containing the tape she used to document his final days.

Alexandra Beggs woke up Thursday morning and learned she'd been the victim of a home break-in.

The thief stole her laptop, her iPad, cash, and her video camera. Alexandra says all of that can be replaced, but it's what was inside the video camera that most upset her.

We had some wonderful footage, I looked at it just a few weeks ago, of Rob sitting on the couch with the boys, probably some of the last words he spoke, because towards the end he couldn't speak at all, she said.

Her husband, Rob Beggs, lost his life in August of 2011, after a long battle with melanoma. His sons were just toddlers when he passed away.

Even before he got sick, Alexandra documented everything the family did together. Now, she treasures the videos of her husband and their two boys, carving pumpkins, going on family vacations, and chasing each other around the house.

By far though, her most precious video is the one that's now been stolen. She'd hoped to show it to her sons when they got old enough to understand their father's death.

It's just the end of the story, and all I want is for the boys to know, I just want them to be able to see that they were the center of his world, even up until the last moment.

Alexandra says the thief can keep everything else, she just wants the tape back.

She's hoping and praying he or she will hear her story and do the right thing.

If you have any information about the break-in, you're asked to call the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
