A Kitsap County town turns out to celebrate a special birthday. The town of Poulsbo held a birthday party today for Ian Gunnell, who just turned seven.

Ian was diagnosed with leukemia six months ago and is going through chemo.

His mom says it's been tough, and they couldn't have done it without the community.

The town has held several fundraisers to help pay for Ian's medical bills. So far, they've raised $150,000.

Truly the community has been our super heroes through these last six months, said Tonya Gunnell. It's been amazing. It's incredible to feel the love and support from all over Poulsbo and Kitsap County...

Ian's mom wasn't sure he'd be well enough to attend his birthday party, but on Friday night, the doctors gave him the OK.
