PULLMAN, Wash. -- A student at Washington State University was seriously injured Thursday when he fell 11 stories from the window of a dormitory.
He fell out of an eleventh-story window in Orton Hall and landed in the grass. His fall was broken by trees next to the building.
When emergency crews arrived, the student was conscious and talking.
He suffered extensive injuries and was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, said WSU spokesman Darin Watkin.
He has only been identified as a 22-year-old junior at the school, according to Assistant WSU Police Chief Steve Hansen.
Neither alcohol nor foul play is suspected.
