CRESWELL, Ore. -- A man who reportedly took his pants off and tried to break into a school bus was arrested by state troopers Tuesday after he drove a vehicle with two flat tires into a creek, police said.
On Jan. 14, Oregon State Police responded to reports that a man driving a passenger car had stopped in front of a school bus on the side of Interstate 5 north of Creswell.
OSP said they had also received reports that the Bothell man had intentionally hit the bus, took his pants off and tried to get inside. The bus driver was a woman but no children were inside, police said.
A state trooper spotted the suspect's car fleeing the scene with two flat tires. The driver eluded police until veering off the roadway, through a fence and into a creek, police said.
The suspect finally left the submerged vehicle and was taken into custody, police said.
The man was lodged at Lane County Jail.
