SEATTLE--An early morning domestic assault led to a five-hour SWAT standoff in a North Seattle neighborhood.
The suspect surrendered to police peacefully on Sunday morning.
Police say the suspect assaulted his girlfriend around 4:30a.m on Sunday.
The man then barricaded himself in a townhouse on the 700 block of N. Motor Place.
SWAT officers and negotiators were on scene for several hours trying to urge the 39-year-old man to surrender peacefully.
The suspect has been booked into the King county jail.
