There's some great summer weather to look forward to this weekend, and many events are happening outdoors. Lynn Jacobson, The Seattle Times' features editor, and her son Reed joined KING 5 Morning News to talk about what's going on in the next few days.
More than two dozen neighborhoods around Seattle and on the Eastside now host outdoor movie series. Some of the films showing this weekend include Hairspray, Transformers, The Lion King, The Pirates!Band of Misfits and American Graffiti. Bring the kids and some lawn chairs. Movies typically begin at dusk. The Seattle Times has a list of summer outdoor movies organized by location.
Around King and Snohomish counties, at least five separate theater outfits are presenting free outdoor shows. This weekend, for example, you can see a double feature of King Lear and AMidsummer Night's Dream starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Woodland Park. Check out the Seattle Times' sampler of outdoor theater performances in the region.
