SEATTLE People in Western Washington have been waiting for all the snow this La Nina winter was supposed to bring.
Wait no longer. Indications are snow will reach sea level this weekend.
KING 5 Meteorologist Jim Guy says a cold front will move down the BC coast Saturday, spreading increasing rain into western Washington during the day, with high temperatures warming a little into the mid 40s. Latest forecast
Much cooler will follow the front Saturday night, lowering snow levels to near sea level by Sunday morning for snow showers or mixed rain and snow showers. The air will continue to cool on Sunday, changing the showers to mostly snow showers during the day. High temperatures will only be in the upper 30s to near 40.
Early next week cold air will continue to move into Western Washington.
It will flow in off the Pacific rather than from the interior of BC so we won't sink into a deep freeze but it will continue to keep snow levels at or near sea level, said Guy.
