A University of Washington football player on Wednesday pleaded guilty to assaults on Seahawks fans after the Super Bowl.
The defense attorney Damore'ea Stringfellow told the judge that Stringfellow made a poor choice in supporting a friend, a staunch Broncos fan, after the Broncos lost to the Seahawks.
This is a tragedy that occurred shortly after the Seahawks won the Super Bowl. He had since gotten counseling. He is channeling his energy. He's an athlete with incredible potential. We want to get this behind him, said Stringfellow's attorney.
The judge sentenced the UW sophomore to five days on a work crew and almost $700 in fines. Stringfellow was ordered to get more counseling for anger management.
