Law enforcement in Pierce County is running heavy DUI patrols tonight in the eastern part of the county.

The effort is in honor of Daniel Morse, a 14-year-old killed by a drunk driver near Graham in 2009.

It brings up all the memories more than usual, like it just happened all over again, said Daniel's mom Evelyn Machovsky.

He was riding the skateboard she got him for Christmas.

Thirty officers will patrol for impaired drivers as well as visit bars, handing out packets filled with information on state liquor laws.

Any drivers arrested will receive a flier with Daniel's picture and story on it.
