VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A Vancouver waitress has the chance to chase her dream, thanks to the kindness of a stranger.
Rosie Salice was at her job at the Mint Tea Bistro in Vancouver Sunday when she got a $700 tip to help start her own jewelry making business.
I was stunned. I didn't know what to say. I had no words, Salice said.
It started when the customer complimented Salice on the necklace she was wearing.
Salice told her she made it herself. It's something Salice, her sister and a friend do as a hobby.
The customer asked if she ever thought of selliing them. Salice said yes, but told her they didn't have the money to get a business started.
As she left the customer handed her a check for $700 and a note that said, I believe in you.
I just gave her a hug and I started crying. She held me really tightly. It was special, I've never felt so connected to a stranger, Salice said.
She said she plans to put together a business plan and look at starting a business.
She really touched my heart. I'm going to carry this forever, Salice said.
