An attendant at Seattle's Nickelsville Homeless Camp called 911 Monday after a woman left her 7-year-old son there around 8:30 p.m.

Responding officers found the child wet from the rain and wandering the campsite.

The boy didn't know where his mother was and said he hadn't eaten since breakfast.

Officers took the boy to the East Precinct and bought him McDonald's to eat while they waited for Child Protective Services.
