Before their game Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins gave New York Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera a retirement gift a rocking chair made mostly of broken bats.

It was presented in a pre-game ceremony in Minnesota.

An inscription on the chair reads, Chair of Broken Dreams. Rivera is known for breaking the bats of several foes during a career that is sure to land him in the Hall of Fame.

I was expecting someone to do something like that with broken bats, but that was, that was awesome, said Rivera. That was great. That was wonderful. Made me laugh a lot.
