Police were investigating an arson at a south Seattle home Tuesday.

Firefighters and police officers were called to the home in the 2900 block of South Austin after flames broke out around 2:20 p.m.

According to Seattle Police, the incident started as a fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend. The boyfriend ran to a back room, set the fire, then fled.

Police say eight people were inside the house at the time.

My mom and her boyfriend were fighting and they were intoxicated and he ran off and set the house on fire because she refused to leave the room, said Latrecia Ville.

It just went up so fast, said Jeff Bowers. There wasn't to do anything there wasn't time to grab nothing; smoke just filled the house it was like a tinder box in there.

It makes me totally angry, I don't know what set him off like that crazy, said Janet Brown.

No one was hurt in the fire, but one resident is looking for her dog, Casper. The pit bull was inside when the fire started.
