Detectives are investigating the death of a woman who was the victim of a hit and run in Snohomish Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Kay Hyde Donohue, 53, of Lake Stevens.
Deputies learned about the hit-and-run after making a welfare check Tuesday at about 5:30 p.m. to a residence the in the 12700 block of 18th St SE in Lake Stevens where a domestic disturbance had been reported.
In the process of interviewing the residents of the house, deputies were led to a vehicle that had suspicious marks indicating it had may have been used in a pedestrian hit-and-run.
Deputies followed up on information they gleaned from further questioning and found a woman's body at the 4400 block of S. Machias Rd. It is believed her body may have been there since 5:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Detectives would like to know more about Donohue's activities on the evening prior to or the morning of the fatal incident. Also, anyone who may have seen Donohue on S. Machias Rd early Tuesday morning is encouraged to contact detectives. Donohue was walking northbound on the east side of the road wearing a red winter coat and red baseball cap.
