An Algona, Wash., man, convicted a second time on child pornography charges, could spend the rest of his life in federal prison.
Michael Allen Dreyer, 59, was convicted Thursday in U.S. District Court in Seattle for possession and distribution of child porn. He already has a previous conviction from 2000 for child porn possession, therefore he faces at least 15 years in prison. It could be as much as 40 years when he is sentenced in January.
Investigators caught on to Dreyer again last year as they were looking into child porn distribution that used peer-to-peer file sharing software. A federal investigator was able to see child pornography images Dreyer was sharing.
Investigators seized a computer from Dreyer s home, which they said contained more than 20 videos and 1,300 images depicting child pornography.
Dreyer was sentenced to 27 months for his 2000 conviction.
