SEATTLE The book hasn't even been written yet, someone has already bought the movie rights to the story of Western Washington's most notorious fugitive.
Variety reports that Fox has purchased the feature rights to Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw. The story of teen fugitive Colton Harris-Moore will be produced by Rough House Pictures.
The feature is reportedly based on a book proposal by Bob Friel, who profiled Harris-Moore for Outside Magazine in January.
Harris-Moore, 18, has managed to evade not only local law enforcement, but Homeland Security and the FBI. He's been dubbed the Barefoot Bandit after being seen running barefoot from the scene of one of his alleged crimes.
Harris-Moore is accused of stealing from homes and businesses, taking cars, boats and even airplanes after apparently teaching himself how to fly.
