Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett is being accused of abandoning a 4-month-old boxer at a Tampa Bay boarding facility before moving to Seattle in the offseason and never paying the bill, TMZ reports.

The dog, named Koa, was given to a boxer rescue organization and eventually placed into a new home after four months at the facility.

TMZ reports Bennett said he thought the $5,000 bill had been taken care of. He did not comment on why he never went back for the dog.

Bennett signed a reported one year, $5 million dollar deal with the Seahawks in March.
